We are using a Faro Laser Tracker to determine the Flatness of an Exchanger during the machining process. The O.D. mount-facing machine was set using the laser. After machining was finished we projected the surface plane 20 Feet across to another vessel to set the mating flange parallel.
Using the Faro Laser tracker to lay out the location of the new motor base. Location Motor location was determined by reverse engineering the new motor. Motor pads were milled flat and leveled to a pre-determined elevation. Used the coordinate system built off of the pump shaft to do a pre-alignment and layout/drill the motor bolt holes. This saved the customer time and money instead of them having to set the motor in place, thereby achieving alignment to the pump, transfer, transfer the punch holes, remove the motor to drill the holes, and then set the motor back in place to do the final alignment
